I have just finished reading your new book, Inaugural Addresses:
Presidents of the United States from George Washington... to 2004.
This
is an excellent reference book for history teachers as well as those teaching
or working in related areas. It is rich in original historic material
yet readily accessible to those of us who are not professional historians.
The introductory material preceding each inaugural address is very helpful
in that it establishes the historic context. The addresses themselves provide
a unique opportunity to peer deeply into the character of each president
and also provides a snapshot of the concerns that were most cogent during
that particular year. I am looking forward to using this book as a resource
for teaching American History.
