Inaugural
Addresses--2nd Edition--Presidents
of the United States from George Washington....to
2008
But this book is different. It includes a commitment to keep it updated and in print for at least the next two presidential elections. In the back of the book, you'll find coupons that you can send to Science and Humanities Press when the new presidents are elected in the year 2004 and in the year 2008 and take office in the following years. I commit to keep this book in print and up-to-date by sending you supplements for those two election years.
This book makes a great gift. What you're buying today is not only an important piece of our past that goes back over 200 years, but you're buying for yourself--or for a friend-- a commitment to the future and a commitment that this book will continue to be available and up-to-date to provide for this very basic need. There is no present like the future!
The original electronic text used to produce this work was provided

Inaugural Addresses: Presidents of the United States from George
Washington... to 2004 is a great resource for teachers, students, trivia
buffs, and anyone else with a bent for history. It's inexpensive, the
Notes preceeding each address are full of fascinating sidelights, and the
publisher will even keep you up-to-date with supplements for the addresses
to be delivered in 2000 and 2004--what a great idea!

I have just finished reading your new book, Inaugural Addresses:
Presidents of the United States from George Washington... to 2004.
This
is an excellent reference book for history teachers as well as those teaching
or working in related areas. It is rich in original historic material
yet readily accessible to those of us who are not professional historians.
The introductory material preceding each inaugural address is very helpful
in that it establishes the historic context. The addresses themselves provide
a unique opportunity to peer deeply into the character of each president
and also provides a snapshot of the concerns that were most cogent during
that particular year. I am looking forward to using this book as a resource
for teaching American History.
